Created by the General Assembly in 1905, the Delaware Public Archives is one of the oldest public archives programs in the country. Its mission is three-fold:

  1. To identify, collect, and preserve public records of enduring historical and evidential value;
  2. To ensure access to public records for present and future generations of Delawareans; and
  3. To advise and educate in the creation, management, use, and preservation of public records.

The Archives holds more than 95,000 cubic feet of government records and historical documents, and over 800,000 photographs.
You are cordially invited to make use of these valuable historical resources and explore Delaware's past, from early settlement to recent times.

Los Archivos Públicos de Delaware (Delaware Public Archives) es uno de los programas de archivos más antiguos del país, creado por la Asamblea General en 1905. Sus tres misiones son:

  1. Identificar, coleccionar y preservar registros públicos de trascendencia histórico y valor evidente;
  2. Asegurar el acceso a los registros públicos de a las generaciones presentes y futuras en Delaware; y

The Delaware Community Reinvestment Action Council (DCRAC) was founded in 1987 to advocate for equal access to credit and capital. Among other services, DCRAC provides bilingual assistance for tax preparation, credit counseling, and housing clinics. The DCRAC advocates for equal access, works with legislators on issues around access, and provides education and outreach to both the community and business leaders.

HOY en Delaware newspaper was founded in 1996 to help the growing immigrant community arriving into the First State from many Spanish speaking countries. On a monthly basis, it has distribution in the entire state of Delaware (all three counties: New Castle, Kent & Sussex), plus the towns of Salisbury, Easton and Ocean City in Maryland. It has a very active presence in facebook informing the community on a daily basis.

El periódico HOY en Delaware fue fundado en 1996 con el propósito de ayudar a la creciente comunidad inmigrante que llegaba al estado desde numerosos países en los que el idioma principal es el español. De forma mensual, tiene distribución en todo el estado de Delaware (en los tres condados: New Castle, Kent y Sussex), además de las poblaciones de Salisbury, Easton y Ocean City en Maryland. Tiene una presencia activa en facebook, a través del cual informa a la comunidad a diario.

La Esperanza is the only bicultural and bilingual agency dedicated to serving Hispanic communities in southern Delaware. We help our clients advance toward assimilation, self-sufficiency, and permanent residency by providing culturally-appropriate programs and services, including advocacy and support, family development, immigration services,victims services, and adult education. Our mission is to support the integration and empowerment of Hispanic immigrants as worthy, productive and contributing residents of Sussex County, and our goal is to provide our clients with the tools and resources necessary to successfully maintain safe, healthy, and meaningful lives.
